At January’s Full Council meeting, councillors heard the Leader’s Report from Cllr Jeremy Newmark, setting out the direction of travel for Hertsmere Borough Council and the progress being made under the Labour-led partnership administration.

The report highlights the scale of work being delivered across the council, from financial stability and investment in frontline services, to regeneration, community safety, housing, culture and environmental action. It reflects an administration focused on long-term planning, transparency and delivering real improvements for residents.

Rather than a list of promises, the update is a snapshot of what is already being done, the challenges being tackled, and the priorities guiding decision-making in the months ahead. It underlines the importance of strong leadership, partnership working and responsible stewardship of public money at a time when councils across the country continue to face significant pressures.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to read the full Leader’s Report, which provides a comprehensive and accessible overview of the work taking place across Hertsmere Borough Council and the ambitions driving the council forward.
