Hertsmere Labour Party Hertsmere Constituency Labour Party & Hertsmere Borough Council Labour & Co-operative Group
In the last few months, five Hertsmere councillors have walked away from the parties they were elected under. Two Conservatives have just joined Reform UK. Two former Labour councillors and one Liberal Democrat have gone independent, forming a new group called Hertsmere First.
That means whole swathes of Hertsmere that are now being represented by councillors who no longer stand for the party, the values, or the promises they were elected on.
There’s no law forcing councillors to resign when they switch parties, but there is a moral duty. If you’ve changed allegiance, you should have the courage to face the electorate and ask for their trust again.
The following councillors should now do the right thing and give residents their say:
- Cllr Graeme Alexander – Borehamwood Brookmeadow
- Cllr Marc Amron – Bushey Park
- Cllr Alpha Collins – Borehamwood Hillside
- Cllr Caroline Clapper – Aldenham West
- Cllr Brett Rosehill – Aldenham East
Hertsmere deserves honesty, integrity and accountability from those in office, not backroom deals and shifting loyalties.
It’s simple: if you’ve changed sides, put it back to the people. 🗳️
