Braverman and Cameron - out of ideas

Today, Sunak’s leadership appeared shaky as he made a controversial move, appointing the unelected Lord and former Prime Minister David Cameron to a key government position. This decision, deemed by many as a new low, has raised eyebrows and criticism.

Deputy Leader of the Cabinet at Hertsmere Borough Council, Cllr Chris Gray, expressed strong disapproval, highlighting Cameron’s historical role in contributing to the societal divides still evident today. Gray characterized the appointment as tossing a “proverbial dead cat” onto the table, suggesting a distraction from pressing issues.

Gray went on to connect the timing of Cameron’s reappearance to recent events, specifically referencing Baverman’s dog whistling of the far-right, which led to civil unrest in the capital and Baverman’s subsequent sacking. According to Gray, the sudden resurrection of Cameron for what seems like an international “welcome back tour” indicates the desperation of a weak Prime Minister trying to regain control.

In light of these developments, the call for a General Election has grown louder, as concerns about the government’s stability and decision-making processes continue to escalate. The political landscape appears increasingly tumultuous, prompting a demand for a renewed mandate from the public.

The Tories are out of ideas, a General Election, and a Labour Government, is the only way through the mess we find ourselves in.
